CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE: 1:00 P.M. on Friday December 23, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Oblong. Burial will follow in the Hazel Dell Cemetery in Hazel Dell, IL.

Jean Huddlestun, 93, of Yale, IL passed away at 2:40am on Monday December 19, 2016 at Crawford Memorial Hospital’s Magnolia Center in Robinson, IL.

Jean was born on December 10, 1923 in Coles County near Ashmore, IL to Athen and Nannie(Church) Walker. On September 29, 1948 she married Ray Huddlestun who preceded her in death on June 14, 1989.

Jean graduated from Kansas High School in 1940 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oblong, IL. Jean was a retired bookkeeper, having worked for Yale Farm Equipment, Finney Chevrolet in Casey, IL and KZ International. Jean enjoyed crocheting and knitting, doing word searches, crossword puzzles and picture puzzles. She also enjoyed gardening and canning.

Jean is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Bill and Deb Huddlestun of Newton, IL, Fred and Sharon Huddlestun of Yale, IL and one daughter and son-in-law Winnie and Dwight Piper of Robinson, IL; Eight grandchildren Ashley Trimble Jr., Andrea and Rob Plew, Amy and Jeremy Perie, Amanda and Blake Gough, Alyssa and Tony Maglone, Matt and Lorri Dunn, Mitch Dunn and Sarah Piper; twelve great grandchildren Erika Trimble, Emily Trimble, Ashley Trimble III, Seth Trimble, Elizabeth Trimble, Devin Plew, Kurtis Plew, Jaelyn Perie, Kaleb Perie, Nathan Gough, Daniel Gough, Ashton Dunn and baby girl Maglone to be born in May 2017. She is also survived by one brother and sister in law Robert “Bob” and Mary Walker of Kansas, IL and one sister Eleanor Elmore of Westminster, CA and by special friend Marjorie Brooks of Newton, IL.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandson Brian Huddlestun, son-in-law Ashley Trimble Sr., sister Ethel Plessinger, step daughters Mary Alice Jamison, Barbara Thontlin and Patricia Miller and special friend Raymond Musgrave.
